WG 4: Protection of staff in the medical field (radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and diagnostic/interventional radiology)

The aim of this WG is to update and harmonize occupational radiation protection concepts. This WG will focus on:
• Staff dosimetry in the medical field: give an overviews through collecting data and set-up measurements campaigns, etc.
• Raise awareness, impart knowledge and good practices in the use of ionizing radiation/ occupational radiation protection among authorities and the medical sector personnel through the establishment of educational tools and regular trainings. Spread information on the application and correct use of the radiation protection and personal dosimetry equipment. Dissemination of the results in typical medical conferences and journals
• Safety Culture and Safety Assessment: Provide fundamental and technical knowledge on radiation safety culture and radiation safety assessment in radioactive activities and facilities, in order to foster and encourage its development through the application of the Safety Culture Guidelines. Train end users to perform safety evaluations.
